What WPS Is

Proof your team is paid — on record, every cycle.

The Wage Protection System is the UAE's electronic salary transfer framework, monitored jointly by MOHRE and the Central Bank. It requires private sector companies to pay registered employees on time, in full, through approved banks or exchange houses — creating an official record that wages were actually paid.

WPS compliance is directly tied to your ability to process new labour transactions. Companies that fall behind on submissions can find new work permits, renewals and other Tasheel transactions delayed or blocked until the issue is resolved.

Please note: BAEZ handles WPS registration, salary file preparation and compliance coordination. We are not a bank — actual salary transfers are processed through your company's bank or exchange house. We also don't calculate payroll; that's your accountant or payroll provider's role, working alongside our WPS submission support.

WPS FAQs

Common questions about WPS compliance.

What happens if my company doesn't comply with WPS?

Non-compliance can lead to new labour transactions being delayed or blocked — including new work permits and renewals — along with possible fines. The exact consequences depend on how the case is assessed, so it's worth resolving any gap as early as possible rather than waiting.

Do all companies need to register for WPS?

Most private sector companies with registered employees are required to be enrolled. If you're setting up a new company and hiring your first employees, WPS registration is typically one of the steps that follows shortly after your first work permits are issued.

How often do I need to submit a salary file?

Salary files are typically submitted each pay cycle, in line with your registered payment schedule. We can help set up a routine so submissions happen consistently rather than being handled reactively each month.

Can BAEZ process my company's actual payroll?

No — BAEZ handles WPS registration, salary file preparation and compliance coordination, but we're not a payroll processing company or a bank. Calculating salaries is typically your accountant's or payroll provider's responsibility; we handle the WPS submission side once those figures are confirmed.

My company has been flagged for a WPS violation — what now?

Get in touch as soon as possible. We'll review what triggered the flag, help you understand what's needed to resolve it, and coordinate with your bank or agent to get your compliance status restored.
