It depends on where your customers are and what you do. Mainland lets you trade anywhere in the UAE and bid for government work; freezones offer streamlined setup and 100% ownership, and suit consultants, online businesses and international trading. How long does it take to get a trade license?
It varies with the license type, chosen activities and whether external approvals are needed. Simple setups can move quickly once documents are complete; regulated activities take longer. Can I set up a company without being in the UAE?
